SHS Girls Indoor Track & Field Coaches / 2007-2008

Amy Lesnever, Head Coach

Amy Lesnever embarks on her first year as head coach for the SHS/Big Blue Girls Winter Track & Field program, taking over from coach Marissa Hedges-Jackson.  Ms. Lesnever served as the assistant coach to the program during the 2006-2007 campaign, and has brought a number of coaching and communicative skills that have greatly benefitted the teams participants.   Additionally, she has been a welcome addition at various track meets over the past several years where she has assisited in monitoring, timing or measuring various events.   Ms. Lesnever has also served as the SHS/Big Blue Assistant Coach for the Field Hockey program during the years of 2005 and 2006.

A graduate of SHS in 1994, Ms. Lesnever would earn her collegiate degree from Salem State College in 1999, while further advancing her educational background with a graduate degree from that same institution, in 2004.  Ms. Lesnever is currently a Social Studies instructor at Swampscott High School, where she has served capably in that position for the past four years.

Melissa Glotzbecker, Assistant Coach

Originally from Saratoga Springs, NY, Melissa Glotzbecker graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 2001, where she competed in cross country, indoor track, and outdoor track. She was a member of a XC national championship team for the two years she competed as a varsity athlete.

Ms. Glotzbecker went to college at St. Lawrence University, in Canton, NY., where she graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a statistics minor.,  There, she also competed in XC, indoor track, and outdoor track. She competed in events from the 3,000 meters to the 10,000 meters, and in her junior year her team qualified for the Division III championships.  Ms. Glotzbecker was a member of the team that competed in that championship race.

Ms. Glotzbecker moved to the Boston area in May of 2005 to pursue a Masters of Arts and CAGS (certificate of advanced graduate study) in School Psychology at Tufts University. During her time in Boston, she has competed in two Boston marathons, running in both for charity. She is currently completing her final year of her Masters program at Tufts. Ms. Glotzbecker is a full time School Psychology Intern in Swampscott Public Schools, where she works four days a week in the High School and one day a week at Hadley Elementary. Previously, she did field placement work in North Andover Middle School in the 2005-2006, and 2006-2007 school years.
